About
Design, for Zach Martin, begins with observation—of materials, landscapes, objects, and people. His work is informed by a lifelong appreciation for craftsmanship, from the textures of artisanal textiles and the patina of collected antiques to the quiet rigor of architectural modernism. Drawing from art, history, and nature, he creates interiors that feel timeless, deeply personal, and thoughtfully composed.
Raised in rural Southern Indiana, Zach developed an early sensitivity to place and material through days spent exploring the landscape and building among the trees. He later earned a BFA in Painting and a BA in Art History from Indiana University Bloomington, including studies in Florence, Italy, where he deepened his understanding of proportion, composition, and enduring design.
After living and working in Ireland, Zach moved to Philadelphia to earn a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. As both artist and designer, he brings a practiced understanding of color, composition, and narrative to every project.
Today, Zach creates layered, collected interiors that balance refinement with comfort. Influenced by historical maker traditions, biophilic design principles, and a deep respect for material integrity, his work blends art, antiques, natural materials, and thoughtful craftsmanship to create spaces that foster connection, well-being, and a sense of belonging. The result is interiors that feel intelligent, lived-in, and enduring—designed not for trends, but for a lifetime of use and memory-making.
